US sanctions are criminal and shameful, Cuban FM says

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez described the tightening of the US blockade, with the imposition of new sanctions against Cuban entities, as shameful and criminal.
Tightening the blockade during the coronavirus pandemic is shameful and criminal, Rodriguez posted on his Twitter account on Wednesday, and expressed Cuba’s energetic rejection to the measures announced by that northern country.

Those actions affect three hotels, two scuba diving centers and a tourist marine park, as well as the financial institution FINCIMEX. They will be prohibited from doing business with US companies or citizens, under the pretext that they are military-owned entities.

The new attack is part of effort by the US administration to stifle the Cuban economy to promote regime change through the strengthening of the economic, commercial and financial siege imposed on it almost six decades ago.

Rodriguez denounced this Wednesday, through a videoconference organized by German Federal Foreign Minister Heiko Mass, the brutal strengthening of the Washington blockade, which hinders and blocks access to medicines and vital equipment to treat the coronavirus pandemic.
