Mexican Air Force plane lands with help in Matanzas (+ Photos and Video)

A plane from the Mexican Air Force, the Boeing 737-700, has just landed at the Juan Gualberto Gómez airport, in Matanzas, with help that this nation sends to help put out the large fire that broke out at the Supertanker Base, located in the industrial area of ​​that city.

Three other helicopters from this air force are expected to arrive tonight, as well as a Conviasa A340-600, with help from Venezuela.

The Minister of Transportation, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, is present at the airport along with authorities from the government of the province of Matanzas. The ambassador of the United Mexican States in Cuba is also present.

Brigadier General Juan Bravo Velázquez reported that 60 members of the Mexican Armed Forces and 16 PEMEX technicians with experience in dealing with this type of disaster traveled on the aircraft.

The Mexican ambassador to Cuba, Miguel Díaz Reynoso, said that it is the first of the three planes. The rest transport chemicals and other materials to fight the fire, reported Radio 26.
