Webinar – International Tribunal against the US Blockade of Cuba

On Sunday, April 14, the international 1c4cuba campaign has called a webinar to report and analyze the results of the International Tribunal against the US blockade of Cuba, which was held at the EU Parliament in Brussels in November 2023.

This event acquires vital relevance in the fight against the blockade, a practice that has been described by the International Court as a form of illegal and illegitimate war. In its statement of November 17, 2023, the Court noted that the blockade imposed by the United States is designed to cause the physical destruction of the Cuban people, which could amount to the crime of genocide.

The blockade continues to wreak havoc on the Cuban economy, depriving the population of basic resources necessary to survive, especially in critical sectors such as health, food and fuel. In a context where the recent protests in Cuba have highlighted the difficulties faced by the population, it is outrageous to observe the hypocrisy of the United States, which claims to care about the well-being of Cubans while actively contributing to these difficulties.

A recent example of this contradiction is the imposition of a fine of 3.7 million dollars on the Swiss bank EFG for violating measures against Cuba. In addition, more than 50 million dollars were allocated for subversive actions in Cuba, including media manipulation programs and “democracy promotion.”

International solidarity is crucial to stop the impact of the blockade of Cuba. We invite you to join this event to hear from special guests about the experiences and testimonies of the International Tribunal against the US Blockade of Cuba.
