The United States continues to tighten the blockade against Cuba during the COVID-19 pandemic

While most of the world is creating ties of cooperation and solidarity to face the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States government continues to reinforce the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against Cuba for not bowing to the political and economic imperatives of Washington.
As part of the United States’ economic war against Cuba, the country’s foreign assets are frozen, international bank transfers are prevented, and third-party companies are penalized for carrying out transactions with Cuba, among other measures that intensify collective punishment of the Cuban people.
Despite this, Cuba is well prepared to face the pandemic. The Island has a staff that has historically performed with passion and altruism in their daily practice, and who are once demonstrating their professional rigor. This battle will also be won, like many others, with the participation of the Cuban people and despite the blockade.
