Eight days without Covid-19 deaths in Cuba

The national director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), Dr. Francisco Duran, said on Sunday that no deaths by Covid-19 have been reported in Cuba over the last eight days.
The death toll remains at 87, Dr. Duran said in his daily press briefing at Havana’s International Press Center to inform about the pandemic in Cuba.

He pointed out that 49 people are currently infected by the new coronavirus, but there are no critical or seriously ill patients.

The expert explained that 2,745 tests were performed to detect the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, and only one person, a woman, was positive.

The patient was asymptomatic at the time she was tested, so Cuba accumulates 1,399 Covid-19 asymptomatic patients since March, Dr. Duran pointed out.

He noted that four people were discharged from hospital, totaling 2,308 patients who have recovered from the disease.
