The United States, an expert in psychological warfare and disinformation, affirms that they are applying an \u201ceconomic embargo\u201d against socialist Cuba, when the truth, reflected in their own secret documents, is an economic, commercial and financial war to starve an entire people and not their rulers, as they intend to make public opinion in their own country and the world believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reality is very different from what the U.S government intends to sell, it is a total economic war that did not begin on\u00a0February 6, 1962, when President John F. Kennedy signed Federal Resolution No. IO85, called “Embargo on trade with Cuba\u201d, where he wrote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI proclaim the embargo on trade between the United States and Cuba, therefore:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I prohibit, effective 12:01 am Eastern Standard Time, February 7, 1962, the importation into the United States of all products of Cuban origin, in addition to all products imported from or through Cuba.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hereby direct the Secretary of Commerce, under the provisions of the Export Control Act of 1949, as amended (50 United States Code In. 2021-2032) (sections 2021-2032 of the appendix to Title 50 , National Defense and War) to continue to carry out the prohibition of all exports from the United States to Cuba, and, therefore, I authorize the Secretary of Commerce, under said Act, to continue, modify or revoke the exceptions of such prohibitions\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These economic war plans began much earlier, when Senator George Smathers, a Democrat from Florida, proposed an amendment on June 5, 1959 to reduce the sugar quota that the United States bought from the Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 6, 1960, the Assistant Secretary of State for Ibero-American Affairs of the United States, Lester D. Mallory, wrote a memorandum where he stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c The only foreseeable means we have today to alienate internal support for the Revolution is through disenchantment<\/strong> and discouragement<\/strong> based on dissatisfaction and economic difficulties. Every conceivable means must be used promptly to weaken the economic life of Cuba. Deny money and supplies to lower real and money wages, in order to cause hunger, despair and the overthrow of the government “<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 29, 1960, President D. Eisenhower began to seek political support to authorize him to completely abolish the sugar quota, the main exportable product of the Cuban economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 27, 1960, the U.S. Congress begins to promote a new amendment to the Sugar Law, to include a clause that would authorize the president of the United States to eliminate the Cuban quota.\u00a0On July 6, Eisenhower cancels it entirely and declares:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis action initiates the economic sanctions against Cuba. Now we must undertake other economic, diplomatic and strategic measures. This means that the United States will not buy the remaining 700 thousand tons of the quota for this year 1960\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The criminal and ruthless economic, commercial and financial war against Cuba was underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 19 of that same year, 1960, Eisenhower declared a partial embargo on trade with Cuba, prohibiting all exports, except food, medicine and some products, to which he imposed special licenses for export.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day, the presidential candidate JF Kennedy requests help for the “fighters for the freedom of Cuba”;\u00a0the freezing of all Cuban assets in the United States and a collective action against communism with the participation of the OAS and its European allies, pressuring Canada so that U.S. exports do not reach Cuba through that country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eisenhower broke off relations with Cuba on January 3, 1961, leaving Kennedy to develop the Bay of Pigs invasion plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 1, 1961, Richard Goodwin, a specialist for Cuban affairs at the White House, advised Robert Kennedy, attorney general, that the most effective thing against Havana was to create a new plan to overthrow Fidel Castro, which is structured under a presidential directive, such as Operation Mongoose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President JF Kennedy’s directive was implemented on November 30, 1961, with an operative group composed of Brigadier General Edward Lansdale, as Chief of Operations, representatives of the secretaries and directors of agencies, plus the Department of State, the CIA, Department of Defense and the United States Information Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 18, 1962, Kennedy officially approved said Operation and stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe objective of the United States is to help the Cubans to overthrow the communist regime in Cuba\u2026 <\/em>The Operation is aimed at provoking a rebellion of the Cuban people. <\/em>This uprising will overthrow the communist regime\u2026 Political action will be supported by an economic war<\/strong> that induces the communist regime to fail in its effort to meet the needs of the country, psychological operations will increase the resentment of the population against the regime, and those of the type The military will give the popular movement a weapon of action for sabotage and armed resistance in support of political objectives.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no doubt about the end pursued by this genocidal policy, with the most criminal principles and violations of human rights against an entire people as punishment, for just wanting to be independent and sovereign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to change international public opinion about Cuba, Arthur Schlesinger Jr., a special assistant to President Kennedy, proposed a plan to the political action subcommittee of the Cuban Task Force, which was approved by the President on May 5, 1962. , to initiate an offensive advertising policy throughout the world, also aimed at improving the image of the United States, after the failure of the Bay of Pigs invasion and justifying it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That new plan lays out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur mission is to redefine the conflict in Cuba, in a way that changes public opinion.\u00a0Our job is to find ways and means to show that the conflict in Cuba is between the communists, and that is why we need to reveal the true character of the Castro government and its “revolution betrayed.”<\/em><\/p>

To achieve this, we must publish these criteria in the foreign press, through accredited correspondents in Washington and use our embassies to contact renowned journalists in London, Paris and other cities, to demonstrate Castro’s commitment to communism, before our economic retaliation.\u00a0Similarly, sending irreproachable anti-Castro figures to Europe to explain Castro’s betrayal of the Revolution.<\/em><\/p>

Bring stories of Castro’s terrorism and his violation of human rights to the newspapers\u201d<\/em>\u00a0.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

63 years later, nothing has changed, its archaic policy is maintained despite worldwide repudiation and that of the Cuban people, who stoically resist the cruel and ruthless economic war, called the Blockade, added to the communication campaigns to distort the reality of Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
