The American empire has been relentless against the small archipelago that has shown that it is possible to be dignified and with principles in this world.

Everything has been proven against Cuba. Especially, and fiercely, the terrorism that mutilates and kills. A policy of State Terrorism that began shortly after January 1, 1959, when the US opened the doors to the gang of criminals, torturers and embezzlers who left Cuba and founded their fold in Miami, the cradle and germ of the mafia anti-Cuban terrorist. The historical archives collect about 60 aircraft hijackings or attempts throughout these 60 years; more than 50 bombings with explosives and live phosphorus against Cuban sugar mills and populated urban areas, by small planes leaving and returning to the United States with impunity; 110 dynamite attacks, the detonation of 200 bombs, 950 fires and 6 derailments in less than 6 months, before April 1961, when the mercenary invasion by the Bay of Pigs took place; more than 600 attempted attacks against Fidel Castro and other leaders of the Revolution;a biological war that took the lives of children and the elderly and has caused incalculable material damage to our economy.

From 1959 to 1998, of a total of approximately 560 acts of terror of magnitude committed by these neo-fascist groups against Cuba, some 296, more than half, occurred in United States territory.

As a result of 681 terrorist actions and the mercenary invasion of Playa Girón, proven and documented, 3,478 women, men and children have perished. Another 2,099 have been disabled.

Cubadebate recalls ten of the most terrible acts of terrorism against Cuba encouraged and financed by the United States. Irrefutable proof of the criminal nature of a State that proclaims itself as a champion of human rights and a world policeman.

1. In a few weeks, the epidemic of a disease that had never existed in the country broke out, reaching the unprecedented number of 344,203 infected people. 158 people died as a result of the epidemic, including 101 children.

The investigations and meticulous studies carried out showed that the epidemic was deliberately introduced into Cuban territory by terrorist agents at the service of the United States Government. According to statements by the North American expert, Colonel Phillip Russell, during the XIV International Congress of the Pacific Ocean, North American specialists in biological warfare had been the only ones to obtain a variety of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito that was sensitively associated with the transmission of the Dengue-2 virus.

In the 1984 trial held in the United States against Eduardo Arocena, head of the terrorist organization Omega 7, he confessed to having introduced germs into Cuba and acknowledged that the Dengue Hemorrhagic virus was introduced to the Island by groups based in the United States.

Days before the disease began to manifest itself in Cuba, the US Army immunized the personnel of the Guantanamo Naval Base with a vaccine that included protection against Dengue-2. This meant that in said military enclave not a single case of the disease was registered, which, on the other hand, significantly affected the rest of the national territory, without any exception.

If it had not been for the colossal effort undertaken by all our people and Government, tens of thousands of people could have died, the vast majority of them children. In just over four months, we managed to defeat an epidemic that many experts predicted would take years to eradicate. The economic impact was also considerable.

10.
