{"id":2480,"date":"2020-07-29T22:34:19","date_gmt":"2020-07-29T22:34:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cubasupport.ie\/latest\/?p=2480"},"modified":"2020-07-29T22:34:21","modified_gmt":"2020-07-29T22:34:21","slug":"cuba-among-countries-with-most-covid-19-tests-per-million-inhabitants-according-to-health-authorities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cubasupport.ie\/latest\/cuba-among-countries-with-most-covid-19-tests-per-million-inhabitants-according-to-health-authorities\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuba among countries with most COVID-19 tests per million inhabitants, according to health authorities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In total, more than 35,000 tests have been made per million inhabitants, between real-time PCR and rapid tests, in Cuba until July 1 to detect possible cases of coronavirus, Dr. Francisco Dur\u00e1n, national director epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, explained this Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"747\" height=\"498\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.cubasupport.ie\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/temp-check.jpg?resize=747%2C498&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.cubasupport.ie\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/temp-check.jpg?w=750&amp;ssl=1 750w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.cubasupport.ie\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/temp-check.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 747px) 100vw, 747px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuba is one of the countries with the highest number of tests made per million inhabitants to detect&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COVID-19<\/a>, according to the island\u2019s health authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In total, more than 35,000 tests have been made per million inhabitants, between real-time PCR and rapid tests, in Cuba until July 1 to detect possible cases of coronavirus, Dr. Francisco Dur\u00e1n, national director epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), explained this Friday,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acn.cu\/salud\/67600-covid-19-cuba-entre-los-paises-con-mas-test-realizados\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cited by<\/a>&nbsp;the&nbsp;<em>Agencia Cubana de Noticias (ACN)<\/em>&nbsp;new agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his usual morning press conference on the country\u2019s epidemiological situation, Dur\u00e1n said that this number places Cuba among the 20 countries with the most diagnoses made, \u201cdespite not being among the most affected\u201d by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The epidemiologist said that the figures for Cuba don\u2019t appear officially on the world statistics site (Statista.com), but that \u201cit could be placed on the table, with exactly 35,115 tests, between rapid tests and PCRs\u201d per million persons.
